Q: How many houses are proposed?
A: Up-to 450 new homes, providing a range of housing types, designs and sizes, including affordable housing, self-build/custom homes plots and speciality homes for the elderly.
Q: If you get planning permission, when would construction work be expected to begin? When would it finish?
A: Subject to the emerging Local Plan coming forward in a timely manner and the status of the sports club relocation application, we anticipate development commencing on this site in 2027 with a build out to approximately 2031/32.
Q: How will the owners and occupiers of adjacent homes be protected from disturbance during the construction period?
A: A Construction and Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) would accompany any planning application which would include working hours, noise levels of any equipment, pollution control, dust suppression, location of parking for contractors. There would be details of a contact for the contractors if there are any complaints or concerns.
Q: When will you submit a planning application?
A: It is our intention to submit an outline planning application in late November/early December.
Q: How can I view the planning application?
A: Once submitted, the planning application will be available to view via the planning portal on Solihull MBC’s Council’s website or in person at the Council offices.
Q: What will happen to the existing sports clubs on site?
A: The existing Sports Club will require to be relocated for the housing development to go ahead. Each relocation will be subject to a separate planning application and will be carefully managed with the respective clubs and Solihull Council. All new facilities will be in line with relevant Sports England the relevant Governing bodies.
